2026 Reuben A. Jacobs Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Jacquetta Jacobs, through the Rainey Day College Foundation, Inc., is offering the Reuben A. Jacobs Sr. Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a qualifying African-American male student-athlete from the South Jersey or Philadelphia areas, who exemplifies dedication to community uplift and service and is interested in continuing their learning in college or trade school.
Criteria:
1. Applicant must be a resident of Southern NJ OR Philadelphia areas
2. Applicant must be a graduating High School Senior, accepted to an accredited post-secondary institution in the year of the scholarship award, current college student, or Adult learner.
3. Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 and above
4. Positive Social Media presence.
5. Submit essay: This scholarship honors a lifelong sports fan who believed in the power of athletics to build character and community. What does being a student-athlete mean to you beyond competition, and how do you use your platform to uplift others?
